The answer is both simple and complicated.
Simple, because like many parents, I simply want to provide my children with a stable, lasting home that meets their needs.
Complicated, because the reasons that led me to create this fundraiser are the result of nearly a decade of difficulties, administrative procedures, and battles that should never have lasted this long.
For more than nine years, I have been fighting to have my son's rights recognized and to ensure he can access the support he needs.
During those years, I had to cope with the absence of child support payments, assistance that should have helped us but was sometimes denied, suspended, or challenged, endless administrative procedures, and expenses that I had to cover alone in order to preserve my children's stability as much as possible.
Some of the situations I am speaking out about today are documented on my blog for those who wish to better understand the context behind this fundraiser.
This accumulation of difficulties has come at a human cost, but also at a very real financial cost.
Today, I find myself burdened with debts that are not the result of an extravagant lifestyle or reckless decisions, but the direct consequence of years spent compensating for responsibilities that others should have assumed.
Why Buy Instead of Rent?
Because, paradoxically, buying a home is now more realistic than renting one.
I am both disabled and self-employed, largely because I am unable to work in a traditional company environment.
These two realities already make access to rental housing particularly difficult. The guarantees requested by landlords are often incompatible with my professional situation, even when I am actively working and generating income.
On top of that, there are two additional constraints: I am an orphan, which means I have no family support network, and I cannot simply move elsewhere.
My children live here. Their schooling, medical and educational support, and custody arrangements require us to remain in the area. Beyond practical considerations, certain legal obligations related to parental authority also limit my ability to relocate freely to another region.
As a result, I can neither rely on moving to a cheaper area nor reasonably expect a landlord to accept an application that combines disability, self-employment, and a complex family situation.
Why Not Simply Take Out a Loan?
Because the debts accumulated over the years now make access to credit extremely difficult.
Before even considering the housing project itself, financial institutions often stop at that reality.
The purpose of this fundraiser is therefore to build up a sufficient down payment to regain some financial flexibility and make this project achievable.
A Fundraiser, but Also Hard Work
I want to be transparent about one important point: my goal is not to finance this project solely through donations.
I would much rather build my future through my work.
That is precisely why this fundraiser is directly connected to my professional activities.
Every purchase made through this website automatically contributes to this goal: 80% of the amount paid is allocated to this fundraiser, while the remaining 20% is set aside to cover the taxes, contributions, and operating costs associated with my business.
In other words, hiring me, purchasing a product, enrolling in a course, or recommending my work is already a way of contributing to this project.
The option to donate directly simply exists for those who wish to support this journey without necessarily needing the services or products I offer.
A Project That Goes Beyond Housing
Buying my current home would also provide another significant benefit.
The house includes a space that could be converted into a small veranda shop. My goal would be to showcase and sell not only my own creations and products, but also those of partner artists, craftspeople, and creators, particularly from my village and the surrounding area.
I like the idea that a personal project can also become a collective one.
At a time when many local creators struggle to find opportunities for visibility, this small shop could become a place where people discover local talent, celebrate craftsmanship, and create meaningful human connections.
Beyond simply providing a roof over my family's head, this home could become a workspace, a creative hub, and a way to contribute to the local economy.
